PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of registration works, to add no new instrument and to prevent erroneous registration by an interference by automating ID registration so as to be capable of identifying a position of a tire in a monitoring system for tire air pressure.;SOLUTION: When an ignition is switched from off to on and a tire position detection condition is satisfied, an action command for sending an ID sending requirement against an air pressure sensor is issued from an external transmitter 60FR of a right front seat door relative to a smart control device 20. Data returned from the air pressure sensor to the ID sending requirement are received and it is confirmed by checking with the already registered ID that it is the ID of the air pressure sensor of the tire of an own vehicle. The ID received in S30 is registered in EEPROM17a by specifying the position of the tire as a right front wheel (FR) (S10-S50).
