PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tube feeding nutrient which can be administered at a desired viscosity within a short time without causing esophageal regurgitation and a damping syndrome and without giving unpleasantness to a patient and a nursing person and can be safely and easily prepared, to provide a tube feeding nutrient set, and to provide a method for administering the tube feed nutrient.;SOLUTION: The nutrient is fed into the alimentary canal through a tube and is a viscous fluid. Even when the nutrient is administered in a large amount at a time, this nutrient does not cause gastroesophageal reflux and the dumping syndrome because the viscousness and high viscosity of the nutrient allows it to be reliably held in the alimentary canal and to be gradually moved from the mouth to the anus. Therefore, the time taken to administer the nutrient to a patient can be markedly shortened, and the patient can have a condition nearer to that of a healthy person and can smoothly perform everyday life and rehabilitation, which improves both the QOL (quality of life) of the patient and the QOL of a nursing or helping person.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
