PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for obtaining directly an α-sulfonyloxycarbonyl compound from an alcohol, and for obtaining a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound by one pot.;SOLUTION: The alcohol can oxidatively be converted to an α-sulfonyloxy compound by reacting the alcohol with a sulfonic acid and iodosobenzene. With this new reaction the α-sulfonyloxycarbonyl compound is obtained directly from the alcohol, and the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound is obtained by one pot.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
