PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator in which the driving state of a movable part is accurately detected in real time while efficient driving is performed without requiring a considerable increase in the number of component elements.;SOLUTION: In the electromagnetic actuator in which the movable part is turned by the relative action of a plurality of elements 104 of a magnetic field generating means, a driving period of time that a driving signal 202 is applied to the coil 104 and a detecting period of time that the signal 202 is not applied thereto are set in one cycle of driving. Then, an induction signal 204 generated by turning the movable part is detected in the detecting period, and a time difference between the point of time to generate a reference signal 207 synchronizing with the signal 202 and the passing timing of the signal 204 detected at a certain signal level is detected. Phase difference information on the turning of the movable part with respect to the signal 202 is calculated on the basis of the time difference information 208.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
