PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slag from being solidified and adhering to the slag hole and slag spout of an electric ash melting furnace.;SOLUTION: The lower surface of the slag hole 18 of the furnace chamber 6 of this plasma type ash melting furnace is formed of slag-hole bricks 25, and the surface section of the slag spout 19 is formed of castable refractories 26. Under the surface section of the spout 19, a water-cooled jacket 14 is provided for cooling the castable refractories 26. On the top wall of the passage of the spout 19, an inclined surface 27 is formed and faced to the slag-hole bricks 25. In the recessed section 29 of the inclined surface 27, a slag-hole burner 28 is provided, with the front end of the burner 28 being directed toward the surface section of the bricks 25. A communicative path 30 is provided in the front end section of the slag spout 13, and a recessed section 32 is provided on the wall section 31 of the communicative path 30 facing the front end section of the spout 19.
