PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid effect of volatile component of an adhesive for fitting a cold retainer.;SOLUTION: A gas suction part 16 for connection to a gas leakage detecting tube 4, provided to a piping flange connection, is provided to the suction side of a gas suction pump 12. A three-way valve 17 is connected to the discharge side of the gas suction pump 12. A gas discharge pipe 20 for discharging purge gas and a gas sensor 14 are connected to the downstream side of the three-way valve 17. To inspect leakage of gas at the connection of a piping flange 1a, the gas suction part 16 is connected to the gas leakage detecting tube 4. The gas suction pump 12 is driven, with the discharge side of the gas suction pump 12 communicating with the gas discharge pipe 20 thanks to the three-way valve 17. The gas at the piping flange connection is discharged and purged, without contacting to the gas sensor 14. Then the three-way valve 17 is switched so that the gas at the piping flange connection which is sucked by the gas suction pump 12 is fed to the gas sensor 14 for detecting the leaked gas concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
