PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium for fluorescence or luminescence detection capable of increasing the intensity of fluorescence or luminescence and resultantly enhancing the detection sensitivity in detection of fluorescence or chemiluminescence.;SOLUTION: It has been found that the intensity of fluorescence or chemiluminescence is increased and detection of high sensitivity is made possible by substituting a medium consisting of an ionic liquid for a medium such as water, alcohol, or the like.
