BONE DENSITY MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR EVALUATING ABSOLUTE BONE FRACTURE RISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone density measuring instrument for outputting the absolute risk of bone fracture.;SOLUTION: This bone density measuring instrument receives input of additional patient's information except bone density, prepares an output of measurement of absolute bone fracture risk, and more accurately and personally evaluates osteoporosis. The risk is compared with a standard population by outputting a simple graph. In a preferable embodiment, the absolute bone fracture risk is presented to a doctor and a patient simultaneously with the measurement. The following additional factors influencing the absolute bone fracture risk can be included: whether the patient smokes; the exercise amount of the patient; the walking amount of the patient; the bone fracture history of the patient; the bone fracture history of the patient's family; and the length of the vertical axis line (length of hip joint axis) of the hip joint of the patient.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
