PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for finding out easily and surely a conveyer belt having proper width-directional rigidity for an air floatation type belt conveyer in a short time to design it.;SOLUTION: In this air flotation type belt conveyer for floating up the conveyer belt 1 to conduct conveyance by blowing out air between a running face inside a round tube and the conveyer belt, the conveyer belt 1 is designed to make an EI value expressing its width-directional rigidity satisfy the following regression expression, where an inside diameter of the small-diametric side round tube 13 allowing running of the conveyer belt 1 thereon is ϕmm.
