PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revetment member and a revetment construction method using the revetment member for renovating an ecological habitat in consideration of a river ecosystem at a water-front boundary peripheral part of a river, a lake, the seaside, or the like to allow the construction of a green resting space or the like for improving a peripheral view and an atmosphere.;SOLUTION: This natural environment renovating type revetment member 1 is formed by filling a natural fiber material and/or a cloth-like body 3 of the natural fiber material in a bag body 2 or a cylindrical body formed of a net body 2a with a rope of natural fiber material formed in net shape, or laminating the net body and the cloth-like body to form a laminated body of multilayer structure, or winding the net body and the cloth-like body together to form a roll form of multilayer structure. The natural environment renovating type revetment member 1 is laid to allow the growth of aquatic plants and plants to thereby prevent sediment on a slope from being washed away, the lower end of the slope from being washed away, and a levee from being washed away by fixing the aquatic plants. Fish can thereby inhabit the revetment member formed of the roots of aquatic plants and plants and the natural fiber material to maximize a water quality self-cleaning effect which is a natural protective function of the river.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
