PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute a process for automatically accepting magazine materials.;SOLUTION: An automatic check-in system converts check-in data that conforms to a book store format into the format data of the automatic check-in system, and further converts its format into that for registration into a database. That is, the system has a format conversion definition file 2 in which the format conversion of the check-in data 1 obtained from a book store is defined, and a system format definition file 4 by which the system format data 3 converted by use of the conversion definition file 2 is converted into the format for registration into the database 5. Even if the format of the check-in data 1 is different, it can be dealt with by the correction of the format and the error of the check-in data 1 can also be corrected on site. When a check-in contract with another book store is closed, a table describing the definitions of the format of the book store contracted and the format of the system is newly created.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
