PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform expansion and reproduction processing of a motion picture.;SOLUTION: A motion picture reproduction apparatus 1 performs qualification determination based on formulas from 23 to 28 and adjusts frame buffer volume and throughput in appropriate dimensions when stream data of motion picture is subjected to decoding processing. As a result, both decoding processing and reproduction of motion picture are performed continuously, so that assignment of superfluous buffers and situation where reproduction of motion picture is not performed smoothly because frame buffers to decoding capability run short are avoidable. As a result, storage capacity and throughput can be used effectively, power consumption and useless radiation can be reduced, and effect like reduction of packaging cost can be obtained, so that expansion and reproduction processing of motion picture can be performed effectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
