METHOD FOR PREVENTING CLOGGING OF TOWER FOR DESULFURIZATION AND ABSORPTION OF COKE OVEN GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the clogging of a tower for desulfurization and absorption of a coke oven gas, wherein the increase in pressure loss in the desulfurization and absorption tower is controlled by surely separating and removing oily matter and a sludge contained in an absorbent solution.;SOLUTION: A part of an absorbent solution is drawn out from the midway of a circulation path 5 for circulating the absorbent solution from the bottom part of the desulfurization and absorption tower 1 through a desulfurization and oxidation tower 2 and introduced into a settling tank 6. The absorbent solution in the settling tank 6 is separated into a risen scum, a supernatant liquid and a settled sludge, and only the supernatant liquid is sent back to the circulation path 5. The increase in pressure loss in the desulfurization and absorption tower can thus be controlled. It is desirable that a baffle is provided at the absorbent solution receiving part of the settling tank to calmly introduce the solution along the baffle into the settling tank and that a covering is provided at a supernatant liquid withdrawal port for preventing the entry of the settled sludge so as to withdraw the supernatant liquid from the inside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
