PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a flow rate of a circulating gas in a coke dry quencher (CDQ) which permits to keep the temperature of the circulating gas at an inlet of a boiler at a specified temperature or higher and to carry on an energy-saving operation even when the amount of the discharged coke from the CQD main body fluctuates, and a device for controlling the flow rate of the circulating gas.;SOLUTION: In the gas circulating method in the CDQ which comprises charging a red-hot coke discharged from a coke oven into the CQD main body 1, blowing a cooling gas thereby contacting the cooling gas with the red-hot coke in the CDQ main body 1 to raise the temperature of the cooling gas, conveying the temperature-raised gas to a boiler 3 to recover the heat of the temperature-raised gas thereby converting it to a cooling gas and re-circulating it to reuse as the cooling gas for the CDQ main body 1, the number of revolution of a circulating blower 7 for introducing the circulating gas after cooled into the CDQ main body is controlled according to the discharged amount of the coke discharged from the CDQ main body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
