METHOD FOR MEASURING OFF-TRACKING REPRODUCTION PROPERTY OF REPRODUCTION HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction performance measuring method of a reproducing head capable of measuring the reproduction performance of the reproduction head in the off-tracking state.;SOLUTION: When the reproduction of data recorded on a magnetic tape 100 is carried out in the state that a plurality of magnetic heads 101-108 arranged on a rotary cylinder are off-tracked, a reproduction speed is controlled by a speed control circuit 109 so that the same data on the magnetic tape 100 are scanned only once by the magnetic heads, and the data which are read out by a selected magnetic head among the data read out from the magnetic tape 100 and subjected to error correcting process by an inner correcting circuit 111, are stored in a memory 113. Then, the number of normal data without error among the data read out from the memory 113 is counted by a sync counter circuit 114 and compared with the preliminarily calculated number of normal data to be stored in the memory 113.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
