PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for properly removing, in a short period of time, a coating film formed on the surface of a magnesium-alloy material while attaining the life prolongation of a treatment solution to be used, a method for manufacturing a recycled magnesium-alloy material including the method, and a method for recycling the coating film including the coating-film-removing method. PSOLUTION: The method for removing the coating film from the coated magnesium-alloy material comprises a first treatment S11 of allowing a first alkaline solution to act upon the coated magnesium-alloy material and a second treatment S13 of allowing a second alkaline solution different from the first alkaline solution or an acid solution to act upon the magnesium-alloy material which is passed through the first treatment S11.
