PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend service life and to reduce energy loss, by preventing hunting of a boiler.;SOLUTION: A system of a multi-boiler installation has a plurality of boilers 1 and a number-of-combuster controller 3. The controller 3 calculates the required number of combusters based on steam pressure detected by a pressure detector 6, and outputs combuster requiring signals to boilers by the calculated number of combusters in the descending order of preset operation priority to burn the required number of boilers, and the remaining boilers are set in a combustion standby state, thereby adjusting steam generation amount. The boiler of the highest operation priority performs continuous purge for continuing air blast into a furnace even during the combustion standby.
