PURPOSE: To extend a frequency range over a wide range beyond the limit of a variable frequency range to be decided by piezoelectric materials and vibrating attitudes or the like by electrically connecting two electrodes each other and further electrically connecting these other two electrodes to the external terminals together. ;CONSTITUTION: Concerning a three-terminal piezoelectric vibrator for which divided exciting electrodes 5, 6, 7 and 8 for piezoelectric vibration drive are arranged, a pair of two electrodes 5 and 6 obliquely confronted and sandwiched on both main faces of a piezoelectric substrate 4 are respectively electrically connected to first and second terminals 1 and 2. Then, other two electrodes 7 and 8 confronted to these two electrodes 5 and 6 with the piezoelectric substrate 4 between are mutually electrically connected and further electrically connected to a third external terminal 3. Further, it is effective to sufficiently make narrow the internals respectively between two divided confronted exciting electrodes 5-8 and 7-6 positioned on the same main face of the piezoelectric substrate 4 at a certain degree so as not to electrically connect them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
