PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mesoporous niobium phosphate and a surfactant-niobium phosphate composite body which are useful in various fields.;SOLUTION: The surfactant-niobium phosphate composite body is obtained by bringing niobium phosphate into reaction with a surfactant, or bringing phosphoric acid into reaction with niobium (V) halide or pentaalkoxyniobium in the presence of a surfactant. The mesoporous niobium phosphate is obtained by bringing niobium phosphate into reaction with a surfactant, or bringing phosphoric acid into reaction with niobium (V) halide or pentaalkoxyniobium in the presence of a surfactant, and removing the surfactant from the resultant surfactant-niobium phosphate composite body having a hexagonal structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
