PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fine particles of a colored resin providing an image having a high image density, water resistance, weather resistance and abrasion resistance, having excellent dispersion stability and jetting stability, and useful as a coloring material for an ink, and to provide a water dispersion of the fine particles of the colored resin, methods for producing them, the ink or the like.;SOLUTION: The fine particles of the colored resin comprises a polymer of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer and an emulsifier, and a coloring matter as constituent components. The emulsifier is a compound represented by general formula (1) [wherein, m is an integer of 1-30; n is an integer of 1-50; R is one of an allyl group, an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group; X is H or SO₃^-M⁺; and M⁺ is NH₄⁺ or an alkali metal ion].
