PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconducting multi-core wire having comparatively high critical current density and a low aspect ration suitable for a stranded wire.;SOLUTION: By making cut lines in the longitudinal direction of a tape shaped oxide superconducting multi-core wire 70 manufactured by a powder-in- tube method, plural oxide superconducting multi-core wires narrower in width than the tape shaped wire 70 are obtained from the wire 70. The aspect ratio of the acquired multi-core wires is, for example, 1-2. Some of the plural filaments extend in the longitudinal direction of the multi-core wire and are ribbon-shaped. Other plural filaments are mutually arranged in almost parallel and in layer structure. The aspect ratio of the filaments is bigger than 2. Some plural filaments have a part which is not virtually covered with stabilizing materials.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
