PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of strongly fixing a microscopic object to the surface of a carrier using a simple means and the like.;SOLUTION: The method of optically fixing a microscopic object uses a material that can fix the microscopic object upon undergoing optical deformation, at least for the surface layer part of a carrier; with the microscopic object positioned on the surface of the carrier, the microscopic object is fixed to the surface of the carrier using irradiation light. Examples of the microscopic object are preferably protein, nucleic acid, and the like. A carrier fixing the microscopic object in this way, particularly a biosensor, is also disclosed. A method of observing the microscopic object fixed to the surface of the carrier observes the object using a certain process for imparting a force of movement to the object.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
