PURPOSE: To form a soil layer excellent in water retention, percolation, and air permeability in the subsoil layer using an organic subsoil material excellent in water retention to promote the growth of roots of crop plants as one of measures for improving a soil poor in water retention. ;CONSTITUTION: A crop field soil improver is equipped, in order in the working direction, with a groover 31, a scraper blade 41 and a bottom 21 and these units are arranged in the order of the groover 31, the scraper blade 41 and the bottom 21 from the direction-turning side of the operation width, further arranged in the order of the scraper blade 41, bottom 21 and the groover 31 from the surface side of the crop field K in the height (vertical) direction.
