PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject filament yarn having silk velvet-toned elegant gloss feeling, soft and dry touch, and good color developability. ;SOLUTION: This filament yarn has the following characteristics: containing as side yarn a filament yarn comprising flat cross section fiber with a cross section flatness: (1/d)(wherein (1) is the major axis of the fiber cross section, (d) is the minor axis) of 3-10, and single fiber fineness of 0.2-0.8 denier; a structure where three or more flat cross section fibers lie parallel along the major axial direction of the fiber cross section and a 2nd structure where flat cross section fibers do not lie parallel with one another coexists, and the flat cross section fibers contributing to the parallel structure accounts for ≥50% of the total flat cross section fibers in this combined filament yarn.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
