PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical transmission system at a low transmission cost that meets various requirements of clients for a carrier side and simplifies signal processing for a multiplexer section while keeping transmission quality.;SOLUTION: Bit interleave multiplex processing is applied to each of frame data without notifying a section overhead(SOH) in a frame format in an SDH-NW, a new overhead consisting of a channel identification area, an FEC area, a CLK adjustment area and a protection area is added to a frame so as to configure the frame by one wavelength and the frames are wavelength- multiplexed and transmitted so as to allow a client to utilize the SOH as it is.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
