PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To especially hold film running precision at the time of dyeing and drawing a polarizing plate and to prevent the generation of defective dyeing nonuniformity by using a specified composition range of stainless steel bearing in a berating part. ;SOLUTION: The stainless steel containing, by wt., 4.0-10.5% Ni, 20.1-35.0% Cr and 0.5-2.9% Mo is used in the bearing used in a treatment process for manufacturing the polarizing plate. The corrosion resistant effect is displayed in the case of especially using in iodine compound mixing aqueous solution and iodine vapor in the process. Further, Vickers hardness of the bearing is specified to be 450-900 and the withstand load is specified to be 100-500kg. When deviating from this range, forming workability into the bearing and dimensional precision are reduced, flaking and insufficient fitting precision with the shaft or the like rare generated, and dyeing nouniformity of products is inclined to generate. Also, although the structure and type of the bearing are not especially defined, the shaft diameter of the bearing installing part is preferably specified to be 15-50mm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
