PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grind without causing chipping in an edge part by removing chipping which occurs in a previous process in a following process and after by changing machining order and machining direction of a section to be machined and performing machining which does not cause chipping finally. ;SOLUTION: A grinding wheel T is moved from left to right to grind a side face of a valve head part as shown by 4. At this time, chipping occurs in a section 9 where the grinding wheel T comes through. Next, the grinding wheel T is moved downward from right to left to form a seated face on which it is seated on a valve seat by grinding as shown by 5 so that the seated face is formed.
