PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile foundation which improves the cutoff performance at a joint portion between a steel pipe pile and a leg, and prevents leakage of grout from the joint portion when the grout is poured, and to provide a method for constructing the steel pipe pile foundation.;SOLUTION: The steel pipe pile foundation is comprised of the cylindrical leg 5, the steel pipe pile 6 inserted into the leg 5, at least two sealing members 11, 12, a filler force-feeding pipe 13, and a drain pipe 14. The sealing members 11, 12 are each installed on the joint portion between the leg 5 and the steel pipe pile 6, and have elasticity and an annular shape. Each sealing member has its outer edge brought into contact with an inner peripheral surface 5a of the leg 5 and has its inner edge with an outer peripheral surface 6a of the steel pipe pile 6, respectively. The filler force-feeding pipe 13 communicates with a filler chamber 21 defined by the sealing members 11, 12, for injecting a filler 22 into the filler chamber 21. The drain pipe 14 communicates with the filler chamber 21, for draining water present in the filler chamber 21, caused by the injection of the filler 22 into the filler chamber 21, to the outside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
