PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity by lowering a pressure loss when air for combustion and an exhaust gas pass through a heat storage body. SOLUTION: In this burner, a ventilating cylindrical heat storage body 3 is built with a space part 11 for air path formed at the center thereof. The cylindrical heat storage body blocks air passage of the space part and a heat storage body part at one end thereof and the air passage at the heat storage body part alone at the other end thereof. This cylindrical heat storage body 3 is installed in a ventilation chamber 1 with one end thereof on the room side and the other end on the outdoor side. The room side is communicated with the outdoor side through the outer circumference of the cylindrical heat storage body 3 and the space part. A holding mechanism of the storage body is obtained in a regenerative burner. The regenerative burner is miniaturized by installing a fuel injection pipe in the space part in the direction of the other end from one end side.
