PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the sequence required for manifestation of activity in the protein having activities for extending neurite (Neurocrescin). SOLUTION: This polypeptide is the one represented by 377-423, 531-556 and 588-710 of the amino acid sequence of the protein having the activities for extending the neurite (Neurocrescin), or a peptide derivative thereof having substituted, deleted or inserted one or plural amino acids.
