PURPOSE: To apply machining in a direction along a reference surface of machining easily and correctly to a subject part of a work constantly by moving the work held by a work holding means propertly to apply a specific end surface of it to an abutting surface of a positioning member to be engaged with it. ;CONSTITUTION: An abutting surface of a positioning member 70 is set on a positioning position set for a machining reference surface of a tool 45. A work W held by a work holding means 30 is then moved to get closer to the abutting surface of the positioning member 70, and a specific end surface of the work W is applied to the abutting surface to be engaged with it. After that, the work W is disposed in a machining attitude with a work moving means stopped. In this condition, the tool 45 is used for a subject part of the work W for applying machining in a direction along the machining reference surface. The work W can thus be positioned and disposed correctly to the positioning member 70 regardless of a holding position or holding height of the work W to the work holding means 30 constantly.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
