PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically acquire the constitution of a GCH system which is constituted by connecting machines made by a plurality of makers or a plurality of models of machines, the name of each maker, and the names of the models.;SOLUTION: A fault diagnoser is connected through a communication means to the heat source system of the GCH system being the target of fault diagnosis, and the name of a heat source unit and the name of the maker are specified by communication, and further the heat source unit is made to acquire the name of a GCH terminal and the name of the maker, utilizing the intelligent communication within the GCH system, and in made in report the information. In a preferred embodiment, the fault disagnoser sends a password to the microcomputer being the controller of the heat source unit by means of a communication means, and judges the name of the unit and the name of the maker by the response at the time of its accordance. Or, it is made to send the name of the maker or the name of the unit back to the microcomputer of the heat source unit, in response to the inquiry from the fault diagnoser.
