PURPOSE: To wash and separate magnetic particles using an automated measuring instrument by allowing suspended magnetic particles from one block inside one capsule to be held in a site adjacent to a magnetic means, and placing the particles in another block inside one capsule while the capsule passing through a fluid conduit is flowing. ;CONSTITUTION: A film made from an isolated liquid 1L is formed on the inner surface of a fluid conduit 134, a plurality of solutions S1 to S4 selected from among a sample solution S, a reagent R, and a magnetic particle suspension are accessed randomly, and a plurality of isolated blocks from the plurality of solutions S1 to S4 are formed within each capsule in the fluid conduit 134. Therefore, the flow of fluid capsules is fed longitudinally inside the fluid conduit 134. At a given site, the suspended magnetic particles are held selectively by magnetic action from one block inside one capsule, and while one capsule flows through the fluid conduit 134, the magnetic particles are placed in another block inside the capsule.
