PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stream distribution method and apparatus for rectifying fluctuations in stream data packet arrival intervals from an upper stream distribution apparatus to suppress careless acquisition failure and quality deterioration in stream data packets of clients to the utmost and to provide a program for describing the distribution procedure and a recoding medium with the program recorded. ;SOLUTION: This invention adopts characteristic configuration means for the stream distribution apparatus 2 provided with: a section 202b for setting and maintaining a stream control session with respect to an upperstream distribution apparatus 1; a section 202c for extracting a stream broadcast rate from contents information sent from the upperstream distribution apparatus 1; a section 202a for calculating a transmission interval of stream data packets on the basis of the stream broadcast rate; a buffer memory 201a for temporarily storing the stream data packets received from the upperstream distribution apparatus 1; and a section 201b for transmitting the packets to a main signal distribution processing section 203 from the buffer memory 201a according to the transmission interval.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
