PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor for a three-phase induction motor for improving energy saving or start characteristics by improving a power factor when run ning. ;SOLUTION: The reactor coil of the three-phase induction motor consists of a first main coil wound around a first iron core, a first current phase adjustment sub coil, a second main coil wound around a second iron core, a second current phase adjustment sub coil, a third main coil wound around a third iron core, and a third current phase adjustment sub coil. Each of the sub coils wound around another iron core is connected in phase or in opposite phase, and each of the main coils is connected with each of input terminals of the induction motor. Thus, phase currents of each phase become leading phases by prescribed quantity, especially the power factor when operating is improved. The energy saving effect can be obtained in the case of connection in forward rotation. In the case of connection in reverse rotation, an effect can be produced, especially on securing sufficient starting toque.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
