The invention relates to a lightning protection system for, e.g., a wind turbine, the system comprising one or more internal conducting means (7). The invention also relates to one or more external lightning conducting means (9) mounted on the surface or in immediate proximity of the surface of said turbine and connection means by means of which said internal (7) and external (9) lightning conducting means are connected. The invention further relates to a method of creating a lightning protection system for, e.g. a wind turbine, a wind turbine blade and use thereof.
