Method for treatment of symptoms of a psychosis especially for treatment of schizophrenia. Treatment consists of repeated oral administration of a flavonoid. Quercetin is effective, as are several other flavonoids including flavones like luteolin. Flavonoids appear to operate by reducing hSKCa3 ion channel activity.
