Zinc/metal hexacyanocobaltate catalysts, process of their preparation and their use in the preparation of polyether polyols

The present invention relates to novel zinc/metal hexacyanocobaltate catalysts of the general formula Zni3-vMiv[Co(CN)i6]i2.w(Hi2O).x(L).y[Zn(X)in].z[M(Y)im], in which the symbols have the following meanings:(M) is selected from the group consisting of Cd, Hg, Pd, Pt, V, Ca and Ba; (X) and (Y) represent a halide; (L) denotes an organic ligand; (v) is a number ranging from 0.01 do 2.99; (w) is a number ranging from 0.1 to 10; (x) is a number ranging from 0.1 to 10; (y) is a number ranging from 0.001 to 3.0; (z) is a number ranging from 0.001 to 3 and (m) and (n) are identical or different and represent a number 1 or 2. These catalysts are prepared by reacting aqueous solution of a zinc salt corresponding to the formula Zn(X)in and a metal salt of the formula M(Y)im, with aqueous solution of a cobalt cyanide salt in the presence of an organic ligand. Also claimed is the use of these catalysts in the preparation of polyether polyols.
