A gate (1) for stable equipment, especially for piggeries, has a closing mechanism with a pawl (19) with a handle (23) connected with a rod (25) to a mechanism in a seat (27). The seat (27) together with the rod (25) are let into a U-section (13) forming the side edge of the gate. Thereby the construction of the gate is simplified and becomes more easy to clean and to produce in several sizes and variants as no clearance has to be made around the seat at possible planks (3) and other surface elements.
