The invention relates to a coated abrasive belt for use at temperatures above 1000°C which comprises a backing material such as herein described, having a tensile strength in the machine direction of at least 750 lb/inch and a cyclic elongation of less than 3% at 100 Ib/inch load at a temperature of 150°C and, deposited on said backing materiaL an abrasive containing layer, comprising abrasive grain and maker an size coats such as herein described.
