Flame-retardant metallized cloth useful for making pleated curtains, slats and roller blinds conforms to French fire prevention standard M1

Flame-retardant metallized cloth at least conforming to French fire prevention standard M1 is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) material comprising cloth as above woven in the form of marquisette, openwork, chintz or crepe; (2) pleated curtains, slats and roller blinds comprising the cloth; (3) production of the cloth by washing a nonmetallized cloth with a complexing agent and/or dispersant in a basic medium at 60-100 degrees C; rinsing, drying and stabilizing the cloth on a tenter at 170-240 degrees C; drying the cloth under vacuum, if necessary, and metallizing it by applying metal in an amount of 0.05-0.5 g/square m; flame-retarding the cloth by treatment with a phosphorus-containing liquid on a tenter at 150-250 degrees C; and optionally stiffening the cloth by treatment with polyurethane or acrylic polymer on a tenter at 150-250 degrees C.
