The compounds of formula (I) and (II) are described. The compound of formula (I) is used in a pharmaceutical composition for antagonism of the avb3 or avb5 receptor, the treatment of osteoporosis, inhibition of angiogenesis, inhibition of tumor growth or tumor metastasis, treatment of atherosclerosis or restenosis and treatment of inflammation. The composition may further comprise an antineoplastic agent or an inhibitor of bone resorption. Also described is a process of preparing the compound of formula (I).
