The proposed method for determining the concentration of oxygen molecules and atoms of oxygen and hydrogen in gaseous substance consists in placing inorganic luminophor into a measuring chamber with gas to be analyzed and measuring the intensity of the heterogeneous chemiluminescence of the luminophor interacting with the gas. According to the invention, reference gas, which is active relative to luminescence, is injected into the measuring chamber and directed onto the luminophor for a short time interval. The reference gas has the same chemical composition as the analyzed gas. The concentration of oxygen molecules and atoms of oxygen and hydrogen in the analyzed gas is determined from the increment of the intensity of the heterogeneous chemiluminescence after the injection of the reference gas, according to the following equation: where ? is the mean velocity of the heat motion of the molecules or atoms of the analyzed gas, IX is the intensity of the luminescence of the luminophor before the injection of the reference gas, j is the density of the particle flow of the reference gas,?I is the increment of the intensity of the heterogeneous chemiluminescence.
