摘要

The method for inhibiting the microorganisms by blocking the signature sequences of their ribosomal RNA (rRNA) by the complementary (antisense) oligodeoxyribonucleotides provides for the use of synthesized complementary oligodeoxyribonucleotides protected from the nucleases. Such oligodeoxyribonucleotides are capable for penetrating the bacterial cells with the aid of the active transport. Inside the cells, complementary oligodeoxyribonucleotides target corresponding rRNA due to Watson-Crick interactions inhibiting thus the self-assembly of ribosomal subunits and the protein synthesis eventually killing the bacteria.
