The present invention can be used in systems for protecting electric installations and power transmission lines rated at 6 ... 220 kV. The proposed device for compensating phase capacitive short-circuit currents and limiting internal overvoltages in a high-voltage electric network contains a power transformer with a star-connected primary winding and the delta-connected secondary winding, a single-phase voltage transformer, reactors, a current transformer, two resistors, a main switch, and a shunting switch. The reactors are connected in series to each other and connected to the neutral wire of the electric network, via the main switch, and to the grounding circuit via the current transformer. The resistors are connected in parallel to each other and the reactors.
