The proposed device for compensating single-phase capacitive currents and protecting electrical equipment against excess voltages in a high-voltage electrical network shall be installed at a transformer substation which contains a three-phase power transformer with the primary winding connected according to a star circuit with a neutral wire and the secondary winding connected according to an open-delta circuit. The proposed device contains a single-phase voltage transformer and a reactor, which are connected in the circuit between the neutral wire and the earthing circuit, a current transformer, a main circuit breaker, a shunting circuit breaker, and additionally, the second reactor that isconnected in series with the said first reactor. The terminals of the second reactor are connected to the output terminals of the shunting circuit breaker. Both the reactors are connected to the neutral wire via the main circuit breaker and to the earthing circuit via the current transformer. Resistors connected in parallel shunt the reactors.
