The method for extending the colostoma in the acute ileus of the colon in the setting of colonic cancer provides for applying two-branch colostoma. Upon mobilizing and dissecting the colon distally to the cancer, the efferent loop is plugged while the afferent one is extended onto the anterior abdominal wall together with the cancer, which is then resected extraperitoneally. Then the thick probe is inserted to the afferent loop for washing the loop off the fecal content. The afferent loop is loosely extended to the wound, the resection is performed, and two-branch colostoma is generated with the plugged efferent loop being open to the colostomic wound.
