The proposed method for determining the grain and composition of abrasive grinding powder consists in determining the size the powder particles and evaluating this size as a a fractional number with the numerator and denominator that constitute accordingly the mesh sizes corresponding to the maximal and minimal particle sizes. The composition of the powder is estimated by the percent content of the small, medium, and large particles. The powder is divided into groups according to the particle sizes. The grain of the powder is estimated by the sizes of particles in each group.
