The invention relates to a method of determining the breeding and production value of plant varieties and biotypes according to the pollen and allows improving the efficiency of breeding work and shorten the process on the account of raising the precision of selecting the breeding forms and also varieties while carrying out variety trial by means of differentiating the material according to morphostructural indices of the pollen, in particular by the volume and ratio of fractions of fine, middleand coarse pollen, which are based on measurements of the diameter of pollen grains.
