The method is for detector noise reduction and increases the signal-to-noise ratio for sinus signals in noise. The noise with high relative band width has the properties whereby its auto-correlation function has a relatively limited extent in time and its auto-correlation functions for sinus-formed signals have a relatively great extent in time. The method reduces noise energy in a signal without at the same time reducing the desired signal energy by in the correlation plane reducing the parts where the noise correlation is high and increasing the parts where the noise correlation is high and noise correlation is low. Also, the energy quota is increased between the sinus signal energy and the noise energy after processing in accordance with this method.
